Sunshine Snacks Extends Outreach with ‘Lift Up Downs’

KINGSTON, Jamaica

In keeping with the importance placed on building a non-discriminatory society, Sunshine Snacks extended a helping hand to The Jamaica Down’s Syndrome Foundation’s benefit concert; ‘Lift Up Downs’, by serving as one of the event’s partnering sponsors.

This benefit concert hosted by Terri Karelle Reid was held on March 26 at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Center, in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day. The concert offered stellar entertainment from Lae Lee, ZJ Sparks, Pastor Stephen Blake, Dwight Richards & Friends as well as performances by the special needs community. To top the night, was a special guest appearance by Jesse Royal.

As part of their company’s overall mission, Sunshine Snacks is committed to social inclusivity, raising public awareness and supporting the wellbeing of those living with Down Syndrome. “Sunshine Snacks saw it fit to give back to a group that is often on the back-burner and help spread awareness for those who feel secluded in society. We are even more thrilled to be a part of this initiative at this time as Kristina Kelly is the first person on the board of directors for JDSF with down syndrome. Sunshine Snacks will be looking to add more Sunshine with future partnerships and support,” says Shantel Hill-Afonso, Marketing Manager, Sunshine Snacks Jamaica.

Proceeds from “Lift Up Downs” will go towards supporting the medical and educational expenses of foundation members by providing grants and delivering psychosocial support to their parents.
